REFLECTIONS

Having done the Design Research Dissertation module allowed me to further extend the skills and knowledge that were previously developed from the Design Research Methodology module. I could redevelop, based on research data from the previous semester, my understanding under the guidance of my lecturer during the drafting of my dissertation. I came to realize that the dissertation required not only deep knowledge of the topic but also crystal clarity about its structure in such a way that every section is supportive of the objective of the research and cohesive in flow.

I especially liked designing a digital flipbook for my dissertation because this allowed me to take my research theme creatively into design. I also realized the importance of proper citation and paraphrasing to validate and support my analysis. The submission to Turnitin also helped me in understanding where exactly I needed improvement in citing the sources. Finally, preparation for an article for publication taught me how to cram information in tight format and structure. This module really helped me in enhancing my research, writing, and design skills.
